FD-IX Goes Live with Measurement Lab's BYOS Program

We're excited to share that FD-IX has joined Measurement Lab (M-Lab) as a Bring Your Own Server (BYOS) partner — and our server is now live on the Indianapolis fabric,

If you're not familiar with M-Lab, it's an open, nonprofit platform that's been measuring Internet performance and neutrality since 2009. Its data is public and transparent, helping researchers, policymakers, and open Internet advocates make informed decisions about the infrastructure we all rely on. BYOS is M-Lab's newer model that lets network providers like FD-IX host M-Lab's measurement software on our own infrastructure, contributing directly to that global dataset.

By running a server on our fabric, FD-IX is helping expand M-Lab's coverage into new network locations, including right here in Indianapolis. That means better, more localized data on how the Internet actually performs for the networks and end-users in the Midwest. It also strengthens the broader push for a more transparent Internet.

M-Lab speedtest engine is integrated into tools such as Alta Labs Cloud Controllers.
